The National Veteran Small Business Coalition has recognized Parsons for surpassing a mandate by Congress for contractors to award 3 percent of contracts to service-disabled and veteran-owned small businesses.
Parsons said Monday it accepted the award Thursday at the 2015 Veteran Entrepreneur Training Symposium hosted by NVSBC in Norfolk, Virginia.
According to the company, it awarded almost 10 percent of contracts to VOSBs, 5.5 percent to SDVOSBs and at least $168 million in subcontracts to small businesses in fiscal year 2014.
“Through our active small business program, we will continue to provide opportunities for these businesses to participate in our government programs,” said Mary Ann Hopkins, Parsons group president.
